A&T STAFFER BECOMES PART OF LEADERSHIP NORTH CAROLINA

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University's Ann Beamon, director of development in the College of Arts and Sciences is a part of the 17th class of Leadership North Carolina.

Forty-five leading citizens from 18 different counties across the state formed the 2009-2010 class for Leadership North Carolina, that began October 12-14 in Boone. Leadership North Carolina selects citizens who are current or emerging leaders in the state as well as in their communities and organizations to participate in the program. The class meets six times over seven months in cities across the state to explore critically important issues in five key policy areas: economic development, education, environment, government and politics, and health and human services. Leadership North Carolina's Class XVII is comprised of top leaders from the government, business, nonprofit and education sectors.

Beamon works directly with the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences to build stronger relationships with its alumni and gain support to help further academic growth for N.C. A&T students. She was instrumental in forming the school's affinity group and hosting stewardship events.
