Department of Physics hosts colloquium October 28 at 4 p.m.

"New Science From Some Very Old Objects: The Cores of Globular Clusters" will be presented by Dr. Steve Daford, UNCG, Department of Physics and Astronomy

Globular clusters, while among the most beautiful collections of stars in our galaxy, are also some of the oldest objects we can see, and among the most difficult to study. We will review what has been learned about the dense cores of these star clusters and survey the populations of variable stars, neutron stars and black holes that may be found there.

While this is a technical colloquium. It is expected that amateurs , and casual observers can benefit from it.
