New course introduced
The Department of Sociology and Social Work introduced a new course into the curriculum in Spring 08 entitled Introduction to Social Entrepreneurship. This course is designed to introduce students to basic concepts associated with social entrepreneurship. The course content will consist of readings, lectures, and guest speakers that serve in leadership positions within nonprofits. Upon exiting the course, students will be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of how nonprofit organizations are created, maintained, and structured. Students will have developed an awareness and understanding of how social entrepreneurs assess their success in terms of the impact they have on society.
